Now that the Easter weekend has been and gone, the gardening season begins in earnest, says Rachel de Thame in her BBC Gardeners World piece over the Easter weekend on what plants are trending this season.

Shrubs is the operative word it seems! Expect a huge emphasis on shrubs that give structure and form to the garden. In addition, more mature plants for instant impact are much in demand, with gardeners buying the largest sized plant their budget permits in order to achieve an instant colour and form impact in the garden.
