Andromeda Polifolia - Bog Rosemary

Andromeda is known as the Bog Rosemary as it bears a striking resemblence to the rosemary plant but unlike the rosemary Andromeda prefers only in wet and boggy areas.  

Despite its resemblence to rosemaries the Andromeda is actually a member of the Pieris family.  Originating from Japan it is a small mounding shrub which is very similar in colour and foliage to the rosemary with short silvery foliage.  It has bell shaped pretty white to pink bell shaped flowers in late spring to early summer.
