Blechnum Chilensis Hardy Fern

Blechnum Chilensis is also known as the Chilean Hard Fern.
Easy to grow, this evergreen hardy fern produces very bold leathery dark green fronds on copper red stems, new growth is red in colour slowly turning green as the leaf ages, this unusual colouring adds great interest to a shady area of the garden. Although the Chilean Hard Fern is hardy - in extremely hard frosts the 'crown' of the fern may need some protection with either straw or fleece.
