Goldies Fern - Dryopteris

Dryopteris Goldiana - common names are Goldie's Fern and Goldies Woodfern.
This attractive fern is a native to North America and Canada where it grows in cool, moist woodlands, it is the largest of the Dryopteris species in the US where it is also referred to as the giant wood fern of North America.

Goldie's Fern has large, shapely fronds of golden green. It prefers moist soil in a shaded spot and is a very useful plant for this type of habitat, providing a beautiful solution to what can be difficult corners of the garden. It is adaptable and non-demanding and grows taller than many other fern varieties up to 130cm high and 130cm width.
