Thuja Plicata or Western Red Cedar, native to North America.
This is a tall attractive evergreen conifer with cinnamon-red bark and aromatic bright green leaves (smells like pineapple), although slower growing than Leylandii Thuja Plicata is still a fast growing tree which can quickly screen out any unwanted sights but can be more easily controlled than Leylandii.
Western Red Cedar is hardy - it has spreading branches and prefers a sunny position, this is a valuable tree for evergreen screening.
