The fossil record indicates conifers originated in Europe and North America over 300 million years ago. The Victorians loved little conifers in their ornamental beds and trendy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paramountplants.co.uk\/blog\/index.php\/best-plants-for-a-rock-garden\/\">rock gardens<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this point we started cultivating them, breeding new styles and sizes to suit our gardens. And we have lots!
