Acer Palmatum Osakazuki

Acer Palmatum Osakazuki is also known as a Japanese maple Osakazuki.
This beautiful ornamental tree is one of the mid-sized varieties of Japanese Acer with bright green deeply lobed leaves which turn an attractive bright red in autumn.  A deciduous Japaneses Maple it will grow to a Maximum Height of 6 meters and has a Maximum Spread of 6 meters. It is fully hardy and prefers to be planted in a position that gets full sun. 

Acer Palmatum Osakazuki or Japanese Maple Osakazuki, is well-known to be one of the most brilliant of the Japanese Maples in autumn; its colour is an intense crimson, making it a most desirable addition to the landscape. Given its relatively small eventual size of 6 metres, you have many options for its location in your garden. Find a sheltered spot, possibly in dappled shade, and it will thrive, reaching its full size in 10 to 20 years. It is not salt-tolerant, so should not be planted in a seaside garden, but is somewhat tolerant of pollution and can be used in a city setting. It is also deer-resistant, so is a great choice for a country garden.

Acer Palmatum Osakazuki is small enough to be grown as a container plant, whether you have a rooftop terrace, patio, or courtyard. It will provide shade through the summer months before exploding in brilliant colour in the autumn. Japanese Maple Osakazuki also makes an excellent specimen tree as a focal point in a small lawn, or in a rock garden, where even in winter its graceful shape will be a decorative note in the landscape.
