Camellia japonica Comte De Gomer

This evergreen shrub is one of the most interesting varieties of camelia thanks to its most unusual flower, with variation of red and white colour. Camellia Japonica Comte De Gomer has deep, green glossy leaves and in ideal conditions it grows up to 1.8 metres high with a 1.5 metre spread.

Planted in mixed borders, Camellia Japonica Comte De Gomer will add a lot of interest to the garden especially in early spring. Mixing Comte De Gomer with other Camellia varieties (we have a wide range) will create a very impressive effect. As with camellias generally, it works well in containers.

Height and density makes Comte De Gomer a good alternative for an evergreen hedge.

Camellias prefer acidic, moist, well-draining soil and prefer to be planted in full shade or partial shade.

When planted in container it should be fertilized with slow released, ericaceous plant food.
