Liriope Muscari Big Blue (commonly known as Lilyturf) is a low growing clumping ornamental grass originating from China. Liriope Muscari Big Blue works well in moist areas and is an excellent ground cover for shade or partial shade.
The Liriope Muscari has grassy green foliage around 30 cm tall and has blue / purple/ lilac coloured flowers through the summer months of July and August, followed by black berries in autumn.
Liriope Muscari Big Blue requires little maintenance – simply trim back the old foliage in early spring.
A perennial, Liriope Muscari Big Blue is extremely popular not least due to its versatility as a shade tolerant ground cover.
