view this plant size >Aglaonema Kiwi is a striking Chinese evergreen house plant with wide creamy variegated leaves. It’s a light and bright eye-catching plant that looks especially good against a dark background such as a grey feature wall.
Aglaonema is native to the tropical rainforests of southeast Asia hence its common name Chinese Evergreen. It grows beneath the shade of tropical trees and enjoys the humidity there. There are lots of varieties, colours, and patterns of Chinese Evergreen, so it’s a popular choice no matter what your taste in décor. This Kiwi cultivar was bred for its striking cream variegation.
Its foliage is wide and creamy with green variegation on the margins and dotted through the leaf. Each leaf grows upright on dark green stems that blend in with the rest of the plant. It’s a striking combination wherever you choose to put it.
It’s an excellent proven air purifier that rids the house of formaldehyde and benzene so suits home offices and adult bedrooms. It is toxic when eaten so it’s best to keep this lovely plant away from kids and pets that chew.
How To Water And Feed Aglaonema Kiwi
Aglaonema Kiwi likes moist soil but soggy compost will rot its roots. Put it in a sink of water when the compost feels dry down to a centimetre or so and let it soak up what it needs. Wipe down the leaves, and let it drain on the draining board until the excess water has run off.
Its leafy foliage appreciates regular misting and this will help prevent brown tips caused by central heating and too much/lack of water.
In the summer months use a weak dilution of houseplant fertiliser once a month maximum. It won’t need fertiliser during the winter.
How Much Light Does Aglaonema Kiwi Need?
Bright, indirect light is best, so near a window but out of bright indirect light. Aglaonemas love a steamy bathroom or kitchen, but if that’s not possible then regular misting in a home office or bedroom works well.
Twist it a quarter turn each week to ensure even growth because houseplants tend to reach toward the light.
Where To Put Aglaonema Kiwi
Because it’s an excellent air purifier any room you spend a lot of time in is a good place for Chinese Evergreen. Adult bedrooms, studies, and bathrooms are excellent spots.
Avoid radiators because dry air burns its foliage and creates brown tips.
If you’re looking for a feature houseplant that isn’t hard work, easy-care Aglaonema Kiwi will brighten up your home in the classiest way. It’s a light, bright beauty that’ll help keep your home free of toxins and looking good.
