The name says it all - this is a stunning climber that is covered with large and profuse white flowers with greenish centres from April to May. Unusually this clematis is a true evergreen and once the flowers have finished blooming the plant is covered with attractive seedheads for the rest of the season and retains its leaves during the winter months.
This is a non clinging variety so it does need staking or help with climbing but it is easy to maintain and there is no need to prune, it will, when fully grown reach a height of 2 - 2.5m. Thriving in full sun it will also tolerate partial shade but does need to be in a sheltered spot and protected from the wind and when required it can be container grown.
Another evergreen clematis of interest is Clematis Armandii
