Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho Inkarho Rhododendrons are a new species of lime tolerant & winter hardy rhododendrons that will grow in most any soil. They have been successfully developed over the last 20 years or so. Good news indeed for gardeners with soil high in lime content. This new Inkarho variety Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho (also referred to as Bloombux or simply Rhododendron Bloombux) gives gardeners many more reasons to celebrate.
In addition to being a lime tolerant rhododendron, Bloombux is evergreen with small neat leaves. It is very low growing and can be used as an excellent substitute for Buxus Sempervirens (Boxwood), which as we all know can be susceptible to box blight. Rhododendron Bloombux lends itself extremely well to being clipped and shaped, just like Buxus. Each June, Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho produces an abundance of small pink flowers that erupt in clusters and are very attractive to bees and butterflies.
Bloombux is very compact and dense in its growth habit. It has small, neat tapered green leaves and the new foliage emerging in spring is a vivid light green, contrasting with the darker green of the mature leaves. German Plant Breeders have put an immense amount of work into developing the Inkarho or hardy lime tolerant Rhododendrons and to date, about 40 healthy varieties exist. Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho was brought to market as recently as 2014 and has proved a big success particularly for use as an evergreen, flowering low-growing hedge. Bloombux is a hybrid of two dwarf varieties - Rhododendron Micranthum x Rhododendron Hirsutum.
Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho is an extremely hardy rhododendron. It will thrive in any soil – acid or alkaline. It is best to prune after flowering. Ideal for use as a low growing evergreen hedge, Rhododendron Migranthum Bloombux Inkarho will reach a max height and width of 70 cm over a period of 10 years.
