The Japanese Acer - Japanese Maple
This truly stunning tree from China and Japan is one of the most popular garden trees today. Grown in a sheltered semi shaded position it will grow an elegant branching crown.
Primarily green in spring when it first emerges it turns a vivid and spectacular red in the Autumn. In most cases they will turn different shades of yellow and orange before turning the famous crimson colour we adore.
Growing Tip: Prefers a moist, fertile neutral - acidic soil away from extreme wind and sun and it will look after its self after a couple of years from planting. Remember to keep the tree watered in the first couple of summers. Height 5-10 metres with a Girth 20-22cm. Aged circa 20 years old. These specimens for sale at our nursery are in 90 litre pots.
