Amelanchier Lamarckii
Amelanchier Lamarckii is an attractive deciduous ornamental small to medium sized tree.
Amelanchier Lamarckii can grow up to 5m height but is usually pruned to shape at around 2.5-3.5m height. This tree flowers in early spring and grows naturally in a compact multi-stem habit.
The flowers are white and have a delicate appearance covering the entire tree. Also known as the Snowy Mespilus due to the profuse white flowers covering the tree like snow.
The tree changes colour in autumn - the foliage becomes orange and red before losing its leaves between November and February each year.
An easy to grow tree suitable for all areas including wet, heavy clay soils, full sun and exposed areas. Not suitable for chalky soils.
Other ornamental trees include Magnolia Sieboldii.
