Cedrus Libani or Cedar of Lebanon Tree
Stunning cedar tree that originates from Syria - it is named after Mount Lebanon - architecturally beautiful specimen trees they were brought to Britain in the 1600's but it was through Capability Brown's garden designs that this tree has become synonymous with stately home landscaping.
Cedrus Libani is now regarded as the quintessentially, ornamental tree of the British landscape.
Cedar of Lebanon or Lebanese Cedar is a dark green conical elegant tree with wide spread branches and sharply pointed grey-green leaves. It prefers full sun or partial shade and can grow up to 40 metres in height, it has a very distinctive spread outwards of the branches. The resin from Cedar of Lebanon tree was highly prized in ancient Egypt.
