Lawsoniana Ivonne (Lawson’s Ivonne) is an excellent variety of Chamaecyparis (False Cypress) with good year round golden yellow foliage. Given its attractive evergreen foliage, slow growth rate and dense branching habit, the Chamaecyparis family has long been recognised as a conifer that is well suited to topiary and its merits in are well known, not least in Japan.

These gorgeous Chamaecyparis Topiary Spirals are mature plants and a good substantial size, standing circa 2 metres tall. In fact, these specimens are already 15 years old and have been patiently nurtured and shaped into these stunning spiral forms to create very attractive topiary trees. You will find that they are low-maintenance, needing to be trimmed no more than twice per year.

A Chamaecyparis Topiary Spiral in the garden is an ideal accent plant. Carefully positioned it can add colourful structure to your garden that works all year round. For a balanced effect, consider planting a pair.

Chamaecyparis trees like full sun or partial shade. They are very hardy and well suited to our UK climate conditions and should even thrive in windy / coastal environments. When planting in the ground, make sure to back-fill the hole with soil mixed with peat substitute and a suitable fertiliser.
