Fargesia Murielae - also known as the Umbrella Bamboo
An elegant dense clump forming bamboo with thin, yellow-green arching canes and soft green foliage. The leaves grow to about 8-10cm long. This stunning Fargesia Murielae bamboo originates from China and is very tolerant of full sun and is wind resistant. Umbrella Bamboo makes an ideal plant for hedging and screening as it is so densely growing. It also works well as a specimen plant for small gardens and will grow quite happily in pots and containers.
Fargesia Murielae also called Umbrella Bamboo has been awarded an RHS AGM Award of Garden Merit, a sure sign it will perform well in most gardens.
Growing Tip: Plant in full sun or partial shade in any well drained fertile soil.
This bamboo will reach a maximum height of 2.5 to 4 metres with a maximum spread of 1.5 to 2 metres, generally within 5 to 10 years.
