Evergreen Hebe Wiri Mist is a compact, dwarf shrub with lovely mid-green leaves and lots of small white flowers on pretty racemes from around late spring to early summer. For such a little plant, Hebe Wiri Mist flowers profusely and the flowers are very attractive, particularly against the backdrop of the bright, evergreen foliage.
This low and slow growing compact little shrub will reach a maximum height of 50 cm and about 80 cm wide. It is a terrific performer for smaller gardens and is ideal for terraces and patios as it grows well in containers and pots.
In terms of aspect, Hebe Wiri Mist prefers is a sunny or part shady position, ideally in a sheltered rather than exposed area, although it does do well in coastal areas.
Wiri Mist is quite a recent Hebe hybrid, originally from New Zealand and is particularly disease resistance. All in all, this is a top performer, with its reliably profuse flowering habit and its lovely growing habit. When left to its own devices, it naturally forms a very attractive dome or ball shape and when in flower, it will be one of the most attractive shrub in the garden. As Hebe Wiri Mist naturally maintains its compact form, it does not require clipping and therefore has the added advantage of being low-maintenance. Indeed, because of this, it is most suitable for mass planting in low maintenance areas of the garden.
