Ilex Crenata Balls can also be referred to as Japanese Holly Globes (Japanese Holly being the Common name for Ilex Crenata). 
Ilex Crenata or Japanese Holly shrubs are elegant, densely growing evergreen plants. They feature regularly as part of our quality Topiary collection.  With their small glossy green leaves, these Ilex Crenata plants lend themselves beautifully to being clipped into all kinds of topiary shapes, only restricted by your imagination and skill. 

A firm favourite with all Topiary lovers, Ilex Crenata is reasonably slow growing so a twice yearly trim is all that is required to keep its original shape. 

These Japanese Holly Globes or Topiary Balls are perfect for container growing on roof terraces or window boxes and they look very graceful when placed either side of an entrance door.

In terms of aspect, Japanese Holly does best in full sun to part shade.
