How To Care For Miscanus Sinensis Red Chief
Eulalia Fire Chief needs well-drained soil in a sunny spot to thrive. It will tolerate the majority of well-drained soils including chalk in a sheltered or exposed position. If you’re growing it in a container, be sure to raise it up on feet to ensure good drainage.
In early spring cut away dead foliage and stems to make way for new foliage and create good air circulation.
Water it well until established and mulch in early spring. In very wet and cold areas of the UK it may die down completely before re-emerging in spring. Cover the crown with a layer of mulch to protect it from the worst of our wet weather.
