Prunus Accolade is a small, spreading deciduous cherry tree, treasured for its profusion of semi-double pink blossoms. An ideal candidate for a specimen tree, Cherry Accolade offers multiple seasons of interest. The Prunus Accolade trees are for sale shaped as multi-stem trees, so they are suitable for mass planting and growing in borders.

Early in the spring, the bare branches of Prunus Accolade are adorned with masses of deep pink buds, opening to stunning, semi-double, pale pink blossoms. The flowers are borne in abundance, in drooping clusters, and completely envelop this small ornamental tree. As the flowering season ends, the foliage starts unfolding, dense, dark green, and toothed. Black fruits appear in mid-summer and are enjoyed by birds. In the autumn, the leaves turn to vibrant orange and red hues, providing one last burst of colour in the garden, before the foliage drops with the first frosts.

Tolerant of various soil types, Prunus Accolade Multi Stem performs best in medium fertile soils in full sun. As this variety is an early bloomer, in areas where winters are severe, choose a sheltered location where late frosts or harsh winds will not damage the young buds.

First bred in England, Cherry Accolade is a hybrid between Prunus sargentii and Prunus subhirtella. Retaining the noteworthy qualities of both parents, and displaying excellent traits of its own, this ornamental tree is resilient and healthy. Fully hardy, this cultivar is also the recipient of the coveted Award of Garden Merit by Royal Horticultural Society.

These Prunus Accolade Multi Stem trees are low-maintenance. Accolade does not require extensive care to keep its attractive shape, and routine removal of damaged, congested, or dead shoots is all it takes for the tree to stay healthy and happy. Trained as a multi-stemmed tree, Prunus Accolade can achieve a maximum height of 10 metres, growing at a medium rate and in a spreading, branched habit.

Floriferous and highly-decorative, Cherry Accolade is a great option for a focus of interest in the garden. Both the good autumn colour and profusion of spring blossoms attract attention and, when grown on its own, add ornamental value to a plain lawn or patio. Prunus Accolade Multi Stem is also suitable for planting en masse to create a stunning flowering border or a privacy screen.
