Phyllostachys Bissetii is also known as Bisset's Bamboo is a fast growing variety of Bamboo, that is a very useful choice as a living screen. The dense evergreen foliage and densely clustering canes make this bamboo a good wind screening plant or windbreak.
A luscious hedging bamboo that provides an air of calmness and tranquility in the garden, with its gently rustling leaves in the breeze.
Bisset's Bamboo is particularly cold hardy and is the go-to Bamboo screen for areas that need cold hardy evergreen screening, for these locations Phyllostachys must be grown directly in the ground.
Growing Tip Phyllostachys Bissetii prefers either full sun or partial shade location in rich, well drained soil. These can be grown in pots for example on a roof terrace but care must be taken to keep them properly watered.
