Azalea Jolie Madame (AGM)

From the Deciduous Azalea hybrids that have been cultivated largely over the last 200 years, Azalea Jolie Madam is from the Northern Species hybrids (Northern American parents) whose characteristics typically include tough, hardy plants.

A popular and easy to grow Azalea, Jolie Madame produces highly fragrant, large pink flowers with a very faint hint of orange. The impressive blooms are 7-10 cm across and can complement any colour scheme. A compact and elegant form and dense bushy habit with a tendency towards upright growth make this an ideal flowering shrub for any sized garden. When in flower, this plants produces a dazzling display.

Deciduous Azalea ‘Jolie Madame’, a vibrant Knaphill hybrid, typically reaches a height and spread and height  of around 1.5 to 2 metres over 10 years, making it a striking yet manageable choice for borders, woodland gardens, or mixed shrub beds.

Flowering reliably every spring before it produces fresh mid green foliage which in turn makes an impressive autumn colour change turning wonderful shades of yellow orange and reds.

Avoid heavy and boggy soils as azaleas have a light and fibrous root system. Add humus rich acidic compost and mix into your existing soil.
