Choisya x Dewitteana - Aztec Pearl is commonly referred to as Mexican Orange Blossom.

Choisya x Dewitteana Aztec Pearl is an incredibly handy shrub to grow in the garden - it is really easy to maintain and is very accommodating regarding its positioning. It will grow in bright sunshine and and will grow in shady areas but it does need a bit of shelter as it is not too happy with cold winds.

The gorgeous bright green glossy leaves are evergreen and the profusion of white fragrant flowers tinged with pink  will last and last and absolutely cover the plant. In sunny spots Choisya x Dewitteana Aztec Pearl (Mexican Orange Blossom) will flower again for a second showing in the late summer. As you would expect, the flowers are very attractive to pollinators.

Choisya Aztec Pearl will naturally form a rather neat mound shape of around 1 metre high and 1 metre spread but can easily be pruned if you need to keep them smaller. As with other varieties of Choisya,  Choisya x Dewitteana Aztec Pearl produces a lovely citrus smell when the leaves are cut. Choisya Aztec Pearl will grow well in a container and can also be used to create a very pretty hedge, being fragrant, evergreen and reacting well to pruning.

Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society, a sure sign that it will perform well in most gardens.

For more Choisya varieties, see also the regular dark green
Choisya Ternata, the golden lime Choisya Ternata Sundance or new variety Choisya X Dewitteana Aztec Gold.
