Cornus Florida Cloud Nine

Cornus Ornamental Trees (Flowering Dogwoods) are a fabulous addition to any garden, providing interest all year round with profuse white flowers in late spring / early summer, lush green foliage turning vibrant red or pink in autumn, edible fruits and a beautiful bark and tree form in winter. Cornus Florida Cloud 9 is no exception.

Cornus Florida Cloud Nine is perhaps more compact that other Cornus Kousa such as China Girl. Cloud Nine can grow to a height of circa 3 metres tall x 3 metres wide over a period of about 20 years and therefore a perfect ornamental tree for smaller gardens.

There are many attributes that make Cornus Florida Cloud Nine a favourite. From a very young age, Cloud Nine already begins flowering abundantly and produces large white flowers that cover its branches in spring, making it a more early flowering variety than other Cornus Kousa which flower in early summer (usually June).

The flowers are offset by lovely green foliage that turns a dramatic purple red in autumn.

In late summer, early autumn, Cloud 9 produces an edible red soft fruit (circa 1 inch in diameter) that tastes sweet and is adored by birds.

This tree likes a sunny position and good, well drained soil.
