Topiary Oleaster. Latin name of Elaegnus Ebbingei - is commonly known as the Silver Berry or Russian Olive. This vigorous, evergreen shrub is often used for hedging, it is very hardy and its dark green leaves are silver underneath it prefers to be grown in full sun.
The Oleaster tree flowers appear between September to October, they are small but beautiful, creamy white with a delicate fragrance, followed in February by orange speckled silver fruits that look rather like olives.
We have grown these Oleasters as full standard topiary trees - the shape is easy to maintain with an occasional trim - they are very attractive lollipop shaped trees and the flowers and fruits provide year round interest.
