Topiary Holly - Ilex Aquifolium Argentea Marginata
Also named Silver Margined Holly, Ilex Aquifolium Argentea Marginata is an evergreen mushroom-shaped shrub with spiny undulate green leaves boldly edged with cream and tinged pink when young. Small white flowers that appear in spring, followed by bright red berries in autumn.
Ilex Aquifolium plants are quite slow-growing. This mushroom-shaped variegated topiary holly tree is about 12 years old. These particular specimens have been lovingly shaped and pruned in a Niwaki-type style to produce this most unusual and very rare mushroom-shaped dome, with the crown measuring circa 1.2 metres across.
A beautiful specimen that will give the garden colour for spring, summer, autumn and winter. Also it will look great in pots for patios or on either side the front door. If you have a small garden or patio where space it at a premium, these topiary hollies are an excellent investment.
These topiary holly trees like full sun or partial shade and will grow well in any well drained fertile soil. To maintain shape, simply clip once or twice a year.
We have a wide range of topiary – including many rare and unusual specimens.
