Ilex Meserveae Blue Angel - Large ball Topiary
Ilex Meserveae Blue Angel holly makes a stunning topiary plant as indeed do most of the Ilex family of plants. Evergreen and slow-growing with a compact habit, Ilex (hollies) have long been a top choice for use as topiary plants and cloud trees. These Blue Angel hollies in particular have been trimmed into a striking sphere shape.
Ilex x Meserveae is an evergreen hybrid holly from Ilex Aquifolium (our native English Holly) and Ilex Rugosa (a Japanese low-growing holly). The cultivar Blue Angel has prickly leaves in dark green with a blue hue. The female cultivars are known for excellent ability to fruit.
