Trachelospermum Jasminoides Variegatum is also known as Variegated Confederate Jasmine or Variegated Star Jasmine.
This beautiful evergreen climber has interesting foliage with green and yellowish white ovate shaped leaves. The foliage gives the plant a light appearance and provides interest throughout the year. Essentially a climber Star Jasmine will self entwine itself against a trellis. The beautiful star shaped flowers appear en masse in June and the fabulous scent hangs in the air, especially at night.
Trachelospermum Jasminoides Variegatum is well suited to container-growing and we would recommend growing near doorways or seating areas in the garden to have the full advantage of the fragrance.
Growing Tips: Easily grown in well drained soil - Confederate Jasmine does prefer a sheltered, south facing aspect - it will reach a height of 2.5-4 metres when fully grown but can be kept smaller by gently pruning in the autumn if preferred. Time to maturity is circa 10 years.
