30% Off - Now £77.00Ligustrum Japonicum Variegated - the Latin name is Ligustrum Lucidum Excelsum Superbum and it is also commonly known as Golden Japanese privet and is one of our most popular shrubs. The variegated leaves are very attractive and will brighten up any planting scheme. Ligustrum Japonicum variegated is an easy variety to grow as a shrub or a tree and will train well as a full standard tree - our most popular clear stem tree for above fence screening.
Japanese Privet is fully hardy in the United Kingdom. This cultivar is evergreen in areas where winters are milder, but may lose part of its foliage if winters are severe or they are planted in particularly exposed locations.
The long pointed leaves have pale yellow to cream coloured margins and as an evergreen these provide a year round display and make a striking evergreen screening hedge. They are relatively fast growing and very hardy and Ligustrum will just need an occasional trim to keep the shape or height that is required.
It will grow happily in most aspects and bears small white flowers followed by shiny black berries that last through Autumn and winter.
