Liquidambar Styraciflua Lane Roberts also called Sweetgum Lane Roberts, is a deciduous tree that is a selected clone of the Sweet Gum that grows throughout the eastern United States. It is typically much smaller than its parent the American Sweetgum tree. Usually for their attractive foliage which takes on brilliant and long-lasting autumn colour. Lane Roberts is one of the most reliable for its autumn colour which is rich blackish-crimson red. 

Liquidambar Styraciflua Lane Roberts has maple-like leaves that are deeply lobed and brilliant green. Each leaf usually has five to seven lobes. In fact, it is frequently mistaken for a maple tree. It does produce insignificant flowers followed by burr-like fruit clusters. The tree’s bark is smooth and grey. In the autumn, the foliage turns a brilliant blackish crimson hue that is truly stunning. It makes an outstanding shade tree.
