Passiflora x Silly Cow or Passion Flower Silly Cow
Passion Flower Silly Cow is a recent hybrid produced by Myles Irvine, named after a close friend but meant as a term of endearment. Myles Irvine is a specialist breeder for passion flower.
Passion Flower Silly Cow is a rarely available variety. It is a vigorous climber with beautiful exotic looking blue fragrant flowers all summer long. The white outer petals have vibrant navy blue central filaments which develop into orange coloured egg shaped hanging fruits that are loved by birds. The Passiflora Silly Cow flower is a deep blue than other varieties such as Passiflora Caerulea Clear Sky.
Growing Tip - Passiflora loves the sun, so make sure you plant in a sunny, sheltered spot where it can grow in profusion.
The characteristics of Passiflora Silly Cow are a vigorous habit and a profuse bloomer. It has large 10 cm wide flowers which it produces generously from June right through until September.
As with all Passion Flower varieties, Silly Cow needs to be planted in a sunny spot and adores a warm wall or trellis.
