Prunus Laurocerasus Etna Hedging
In our opinion Prunus Laurocerasus Etna or Cherry Laurel Etna is one of the most ornamental Laurels on the market. Its attractive shiny leaves emerge as a vibrant orangey red colour at the beginning of the Spring season (hence the evocative name Etna). It's new growth certainly bears the colouring of the firey, glowing lava from the Sicilian volcano. Prunus Laurocerasus Etna flowers are profuse, white and scented which attracts pollinators into the garden.
The Prunus Laurocerasus Etna variety is a more compact version of some of the usual varieties of Laurel (such as Prunus Laurocerasus). It therefore does not grow quite as quickly nor quite as tall as the latter. Etna matures to an eventual height of around 3-4 metres high. Laurel Etna is therefore a perfect choice for a small garden or where you need a well behaved hedge with an ornamental touch that will not require too much maintenance.
Prunus Laurel Etna is fully hardy and thrives on most soil types, coping well with shady conditions as well as full sun.
We also have Prunus Laurocerasus Etna available as Cherry Laurel Etna Full Standard Trees.
