Prunus Lusitanica Myrtifolia has many names including Portuguese Laurel Myrtifolia, Prunus Lusitanica Angustifolia and Portugal Laurel Angustifolia. These topiary specimens of Prunus Lusitanica Myrtifolia are shaped in the form of low growing globes also called topiary balls. Portugal Laurel Myrtifolia is a very hardy evergreen shrub shaped as a globed to add a formal touch to the garden. These specimens also grow very well in containers.
Myrtifolia is well known as a very useful hedging plant but it has also much to offer as an ornamental evergreen shrub, particularily when is has a pretty topiary shape such as these globes have. In addition, the evergreen prunus lusitanica myrtifolia has beautiful white/cream, fragrant flowers in summer (around June to August) followed by cherry-like fruits that are loved by birds.
