As can be seen from this image, this particular cultivar of Japanese Maple, Acer Palmatum Dissectum Ornatum has a naturally compact shape. It is very slow growing and won’t get overly large. This is a very good choice if you want to grow Japanese Maples in Containers. Make sure to keep your container plants well-watered and don’t let them dry out. Ornatum is one of the older European varieties of Japanese Maple. It is known to be very hardy and in addition to the most attractive bronze red colour of the foliage, it has a lovely compact and weeping shape.
