Crataegus Monogyna or Common Hawthorn is the perfect security hedging plant. The blanket of blossoms as you can see from the image are striking and appear in May - June each year. A traditional component of hedgerows Crataegus Monogyna has very densely growing foliage and tightly knit branches that create an impermeable barrier along your property boundary. An extra bonus - the Common Hawthorn is very wildlife friendly, attracting pollinators during flowering, nesting birds during spring and summer and the bright red haws that come in autumn are a much loved food source for birds - especially thrushes.
