Camellia Japonica Debbie originated in New Zealand in 1966 and is one of the Williamsii hybrids, Debbie is renowned as one of the easiest Camellias to grow. This stunning shrub produces profuse pink blooms that are circa 10cm in diameter.
Possessing dark glossy green leaves, cerise peony shaped flowers (occasionally showing as formal double flowers) make Camellia Japonica Debbie one of our most popular of the Camellia varieties.

Camellia Debbie has a vigorous upright habit and if you have the right kind of soil this variety is fabulous as a luxurious flowering hedge but will thrive as an ornamental plant in a container for a patio or as a stunning entrance plant. As with all Camellias, Debbie prefers neutral to acidic soil and if you do keep it containerise be sure to keep it fed regularly with liquid Camellia feed and use ericaceous soil for potting up.
Camellias start preparing for their display in Spring, in the late summer of the previous year, it’s very important to keep your Camellia well watered at this time – to help it produce the very best display the following season.

Camellia Japonica Debbie has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, an excellent indication that it will do well in UK gardens.
