In addition to its gorgeous tiny dark green leaves, Ilex Crenata is a very slow-growing and compact evergreen with excellent characteristics for use as topiary such as these Ilex Crenata Pom Pom specimens.
The truly beautiful Ilex Crenata Pom Pom in what is known as ‘garden bonsai’ size, has been carefully trained over time to form the spectacular appearance of pom poms on layered branches. The result is a slow-growing, compact evergreen Bonsai with small light-dark green foliage, stunningly shaped as a topiary pom pom.
Ilex Crenata Pom Pom is a truly rare and elegant bonsai tree that will look amazing in any size garden, patio or terrace, regardless of whether it is planted in the round or in a pot. Despite appearances, an Ilex Crenata Pom Pom is not difficult to maintain. Simply maintain the shape using a good pair of garden shears and prune once or twice a year in early spring or late summer.
In terms of aspect, the Ilex Crenata likes full sun or partial shade, just make sure it sits in well drained, fertile soil.
