Pittosporum Tobira Nana Tree.
A dwarf Pittosporum in tree form, this plant is shaped on a clear stem as a small ornamental tree. Commonly known as Japanese Pittosporum or Australian Laurel this variety has attractive foliage with lustrous green leaves and sweetly scented bell-shaped flowers. Pittosporum Tobira Nana, grows well in pretty much every aspect in the garden except north facing - shady/sunny/partial shade, which makes it a very useful plant to grow in what can sometimes be thought of as 'difficult' spots in the garden. It should be protected from cold winds - so choose a sheltered place.
This variety of Pittosporum is slow growing and evergreen and with the bonus of fragrant blooms it looks good on either side of an entrance.
Pittosporum is also available as a shrub form and these are great as evergreen hedging plants. For other examples of half standard evergreen trees - check out our Topiary section
