Syringa X Hyacinthiflora Esther Staley
The Syringa × Hyacinthiflora Lilac hybrids (as opposed to Common Lilacs Syringa Vulgaris) are early flowering Lilacs which originated in France in the 1870’s. This hybrid was named hyacinthiflora due to the strong resemblance of the lilac flowers to hyacinths.
Syringa X Hyacinthiflora Esther Staley is a very fine specimen Lilac plant with bright single pink flowers. Flowering around the end of April through to May, Esther Staley has wonderful new bronze coloured foliage at first that matures to a mid-green. Syringa x Hyacinthiflora Esther Staley is an easy plant to grow. Its reliability is such that the RHS have deemed it deserving of an Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
