Foliage more than flowers will always give enduring interest in the garden with vibrant colour and architectural shape.

Colour generally seemed to be somewhat lacking on some Gardens this year but this spectacular colourful flower sculpture by Mark Quinn was a bright beacon.

A jewel in the Artisan Gardens was the awesome Japanese Garden called An Alcove (Tokonoma) Garden which won Best Artisan Garden. The Acer Palmatum Bloodgood made a massive impact.

Despite being slightly dull weather it was as always pleasant to walk around with a glass of bubbly and take in the procession of stunning gardens and witness the very hard work that goes into achieving the coveted medals.
