Hellebores (Botanical name: Helleborus) are commonly known as the Christmas Rose due to their beautiful winter flowers. Hellebores are perennial plants. The Double Ellen varieties of Hellebores are relatively new double-flowering additions from Holland (breeder Ellen Akerboom). Additionally, the Double Ellen varieties have long flower stems (so good for using as cut flowers) and flowers that keep their ornamental value even after the flowering season. Hellebore Double Ellen White produces large pure-white flowers with a slight flush of green at the throat & ruffled petals.
