One of the elder Rhododendron hybrids, Rhododendron Cunningham’s White was developed during the early 1800s as a hardy hybrid. Today, it remains one of the most popular Rhododendron varieties in Europe.
Evergreen Rhododendron Cunningham’s White has beautiful deep green foliage and loose trusses of funnel shaped white flowers with a golden-yellow flash in the centre. It is a mid to late flowerer with blooms usually appearing from May to mid-June.
It is low growing compact dense hybrid with a spreading habit. It is worth noting that Rhododendron Cunningham’s White will tolerate neutral soil. It likes full sun and / or partial shade. This hardy plant will reach a height of maximum 1.5 to 2.5 metres and a spread of 2.5 to 4 metres over 10 to 20 years.
