Hibiscus – perfect for August!

Hardy tropical Hibiscus (sometimes known as Tree Mallow or Chinese Hibiscus) is a splendid, late-summer flowering shrub with impressive hollyhock-like flowers of pink, light purple or white. Substantial plants at circa 1 metre tall, these deciduous shrubs are rapid growers and love to have full sun and plenty of water.

With large funnel-shaped flowers and glossy dark green leaves, Chinese Hibiscus are spectacular plants. We have them in stock in a lovely mid-pink, pale lilac purples and elegant whites. Plant individually or group together for a colourful show. Chinese Hibiscus are bushy-shaped, fast growing shrubs quickly reaching a height of 1.5 metres so allow for this when planting (circa 1 metre apart). Hibiscus are adored by bees and other pollinators and will flower through to autumn.
