FOR PLEACHED TREES
Pleached Leylandii Trees - the pleached form of Cupressus x Leylandii In its natural form, Cupressus x Leylandii or Leyland Cypress, is a fast-growing evergreen conifer prized for its dense, scale-like foliage. The combination of year-round foliage and rapid growth makes this conifer a popular choice for hedging: it quickly achieves good height and will be able to offer you privacy throughout the seasons. It is also low-maintenance and does not require much care or fuss to thrive in the garden.
Pleached Leyland Cypress combines all the great qualities of this fast-growing conifer with with the added benefit of highly architectural, formal shape. Pleached Leylandii Trees have clear, stilt-like stems that rise above your head, with a crown shaped into a square. This is achieved by training the conifers on bamboo frames: once the crown is formed, it requires only minimal upkeep to keep its stunning shape.
Height and Spread of Pleached Leylandii Trees Our Pleached Leyland Cypress specimens come in different heights ranging from 3.8 metres to 5.5 metres, including the crown.
How Hardy are Pleached Leylandii Trees? Hardy in all of the United Kingdom and even areas with more severe winters, this conifer can withstand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
How To Use Pleached Leylandii Trees Thanks to its architectural and structural value due to the pleached form, Pleached Leyland Cypress can be used in any garden to create a striking visual effect. Plant en masse to line walkways or to create overhead privacy screening (stilted hedging) by planting in front of a wall or a fence, softening its edges, and increasing the height of the bordering structures in the process.
How To Care For Pleached Leylandii Trees Pleached Leyland Cypress is no different when it comes to its maintenance. Trim it two or three times a year to maintain tidy and neat form and you will be all set.
