Prunus Snow Fountains is a dwarf weeping cherry named for its cascading fountain-like branches of pretty white blossom. This weeping cherry cultivar has a thin leader trunk with many pendulous branches that fall from the crown.  Like most ornamental cherries the blooms appear before the foliage in April and May and cover the tree in pollinator-friendly pure white flowers with a delicate scent. Small mid-green leaves appear after flowering which give good autumnal colour. During the winter months its weeping form brings structure to a bare garden and it looks stunning covered in fairy lights.

Height and Spread of Prunus Snow Fountains
This cultivar of weeping cherry will reach three metres and spread a little less. It’s a good choice for small to medium-sized gardens.

How Hardy Is Prunus Snow Fountains
Snow Fountains Cherry is very hardy down to sub-zero temperatures and is drought tolerant once established. It is rarely bothered by pests.

How To Use Prunus Snow Fountains
This is a spectacular specimen tree that’s breathtaking in April and May when smothered with blossom. Plant it in a mixed border or alone in the lawn so you can see it from a window.  You can grow Snow Fountains Cherry in a large well-watered container and it looks especially amazing near water.
The mass of dangling blossom is particularly attractive to pollinators so this cherry tree suits a wildlife garden or any small to medium-sized garden needing a spectacular springtime display.
It doesn’t grow too large but is still able to bring height and form to a flat garden with its fountain-like branches.

How To Care For Prunus Snow Fountains
Cherries enjoy any type of well-drained soil in a sunny to a partially shaded position. They are tolerant of chalk and if you can put yours in a sheltered position the blossom will last longer.
After planting stake Snow Fountains Cherry to avoid wind rock and water it well. You can prune out any dead or crossed branches in winter but in general it doesn’t require any pruning.
A thick layer of mulch in early spring will help seal in moisture and provide nutrients for its stunning blossom show.
