Hypericum Inodorum Magical Sunshine Kolmasun is a deciduous to semi-evergreen St Johns Wort shrub with golden yellow flowers and big yellow berries. It suits low maintenance borders and cut flower arrangements.
St Johns Wort is native to Europe, northern Africa, and western Asia where it grows wild but the Magical Impression series were bred in the Netherlands for rust resistance and different colour berries. St Johns Wort Magical Sunshine has large yellow berries and is often referred to as simply Hypericum Magical Sunshine. This St John Wort has a profusion of five-petalled small golden flowers with long fluttering stamens. Flowers appear mid-summer and mature to large glowing yellow berries that remain until late September. A second flush of flowers often appears in late summer to early autumn.
St Johns Wort Magical Sunshine has dark green ovate foliage that’s aromatic when crushed. In warmer UK areas this shrub is semi evergreen with only some of the leaves turning orange and red before falling in late autumn. Fresh new green growth appears in early spring.
