Tree Peonies

Tree Peonies are exquisite deciduous shrubs that originate from the Far East. Their blousy extravagant blooms appear in early Spring with papery petals in sumptuous colours. Few flowers can compete with the glamour of tree peonies. They have long been coveted by gardeners and designer florists alike, for their elegance, sheer impact and fabulous colours and just a few of these enormous, papery blooms in a bouquet add instant cachet.
They seem so unbelievably flamboyant it’s hard to imagine they would grow here in Britain. Wrong! Tree Peonies are surprisingly easy to grow. They originated in China circa 2000 years ago but have since been bred to grow in Japan – in areas not dissimilar to our own UK climate.

Growing Tip:
