Hydrangea Paniculata Vanille Fraise Half Standard Tree Form
have conical shaped flowers which bloom on new wood. In contrast to their better know cousins Hydrangea Macrophylla
(or mop heads), Paniculatas are taller and have a more erect growth habit. In addition, they can be clipped at any time except immediately before they bloom. This makes them ideal for growing in an elegant topiary style hydrangea tree form (also known as standard or half standard).
These Hydrangea Paniculata Vanille Fraise
specimens have been trained as a half standard tree form
and have a nice long trunk height of about 80 cm. The lovely green foliage on top will turn into a mass of creamy white showy flowers that, as the summer progresses, will be irresistibly tinged with pink and eventually turn to deep red in autumn. Hydrangea Paniculata Vanille Fraise tree form
allows a shape that concentrates the blooms and the half standard height brings the lovely vista closer to eye level.
Hydrangea Paniculata Vanille Fraise is a beautiful Hydrangea with a long flowering period. The blooms are large conical shaped creamy white flowers that take on a gorgeous pink hue as the season advances. In autumn, the flowers become a rich red.
Unlike Hydrangea Macrophylla, Hydrangea Paniculata may be grown in a sunny position provided they get enough water. However, ideally they do prefer some shade from the afternoon sun.
These hydrangea tree form Vanille Fraise are beautiful ornamental trees that look great in pairs – framing an entrance or brightening up a patio or roof terrace. Their slim shape means that they won’t take up a lot of horizontal space.
