Rhododendron Sneezy is an evergreen shrub that belongs to the group of ‘Yak’ Rhododendron Hybrids. These rhododendron hybrids are bred from R. Yakushimanum and share some common traits: they are free-flowering and produce full, rounded trusses of showy blossoms. Likewise, these hybrids are also quite compact and slow-growing and tend to have a dome-shaped habit.
Dwarf Rhododendron Sneezy is no different, with its neat habit and soft pink flowers that steal the show. This evergreen shrub is a mid to late season bloomer and will produce masses of reddish-pink flowers around May or June, depending on the climate in the area. Before the blossoms open, the reddish buds add interest, unveiling deep pink petals with darker edges that fade to pale pink with a dark red blotch. The evergreen foliage is also quite attractive: new growth is a pretty silvery hue, whereas the mature leaves are leathery and dark green.

Yak Hybrid Sneezy is one of the 'Seven Dwarfs' series of Yak hybrids and has been bred in the 1970s at Waterer's Nurseries. The fact that Rhododendron Sneezy is also the recipient of the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) by the Royal Horticultural Society speaks volumes about its qualities and performance.
